Don’t be the person who saves themselves for the last rep(s).
On the physical plane – that’s not eliciting the training effect you want/need.
On the mental plane, that is the functioning of a weak mind.
On the spiritual plane, that is practicing cowardice.

Context: Start each repetition of your training session fast. Why? Because this trains a virtue that is hugely important for self realisation and self mastery – bravery.
One of the tenets of our Ironmind Methodology is that one’s virtues are trainable and we practice this virtue training through different actions that must be performed in certain states.
In the case of courage or bravery (they are not the same, but both are descriptive of the action we are intending to complete here) we practice it by creating a destabilised mental state (thru physical stress) and using the mental anchor “start fast” redirect our focus and concentration to an action within our control. Then to the most important part of the process – one completes the action and starts the rep fast. It is this performed action under physical and mental stress that will rewire the hardware of the brain, through the experience.
Recommended: Start by taking some time to consider this question. What values or virtues inspire you? What values or virtues do you admire in others? What values or virtues embodied elicited a sense of strength and contentment in you? Make two lists. One a hardcopy and one in the notes app on your phone; this will be your working list and as you become more observant of self and witness other values/virtues that mean something to you, add them to that list that is never too far away.
